SIW Wind Kits produces balsa and/or foam kits for wind blades. We deliver finished parts according to the exact needs of our customers with quality assurance in accordance with previously established specifications and requirements.
Precutting the core material with a high degree of precision optimizes the time the operator uses for its installation, considerably increasing the quality of the process. SIW Wind Kits has equipment and facilities with the function of pre-cutting the core materials and has a wide knowledge of the techniques of production, cutting and positioning of the materials, which corresponds to the demand to produce kits for its customers.
Our raw material, materials in general used for the realization of products/services, are purchased according to the specifications of customers, own or suppliers. Our suppliers are evaluated and selected.
Our engineering team develops the kit design
The first kits are produced, and necessary adjustments are made
The kits are mass produced where they receive lot number
Production is continuously monitored and improved
To produce high quality kits, we need to carry out several operations. Each operation has a wide range of variants and parameters to create a perfectly adjusted kit. Below you will find examples of operations that we can perform:
Balsa wood, also called ProBalsa, is a core material made from blocks of wood cut across the wood fibers and is therefore known as “End Grain Balsa Core”. This type of cut offers a satisfactory set of compressive strength and low density. The material is available in flat and checkered plates in various densities and thicknesses and can be supplied with or without a protective layer to reduce moisture absorption. The material does not deform when heated and acts as an insulating and ablative layer in the fire, with the core slowly carbonizing, allowing the unexposed part to remain structurally healthy. It is very common to use this material in vessels and in wind energy systems.
PET/PVC foam is a type of material that allows the construction of highly light and resistant structures that require a perfect combination of high mechanical strength, low weight, high elasticity, high temperature resistance, as well as excellent thermal insulation properties. and good chemical resistance. With closed cell structure, it is waterproof and does not degrade over time. In addition, it is self-extinguishing, inhibiting the spread of fire. Easy to handle, it is compatible with any type of structural fiber and resin system and can be processed in different temperature ranges. It is the perfect material to withstand dynamic loads and can be used in manual lamination, vacuum lamination, infusion or with the use of pre-impregnated fabrics.
The general use of the Quality Management System as an effective management tool is mandatory to meet customer requirements and continuously improve results, and those involved must follow the established guidelines.
SIW Wind Kits maintains a Quality Management System and continually improves its effectiveness according to the requirements established in the Quality Management Manual.
The management of the company and some employees and / or guests and the representative of the management, critically analyze the Quality Management System annually, in order to ensure its continuous adequacy and effectiveness to achieve the established quality objectives, including the guidelines of this Manual Quality Management. Management is committed to ensuring that customer requirements are met, with the purpose of satisfying all customers.
SIW Wind Kits started its activities in the city of Salto de Pirapora, São Paulo, Brazil on December 17, 1997. In 2020 it also started its activities at the branch in Ipojuca, Pernambuco, Brazil. The two plants have more than 1500m² built, having as main activity scope services of cutting and shaping cores in wood and foam according to customer specifications.
